ADMIN USER
An Assigned Employee in SmartVault can only see and work with clients specifically assigned to them. This feature is perfect for medium- or large-sized firms that want to control which employees can access specific client information.
Benefits include:
- Controlled client access for team members
- Full functionality for assigned client vaults based on role
- Ability to send tax returns, organizers, and financial statements to assigned clients only
Adding an Assigned Employee
Important
Ensure you have available licenses in your SmartVault account, or the Add Employee button will appear inactive.
- Sign in to the SmartVault Portal

Navigate to Employee Management
- Click Manage Employees in the navigation sidebar.
- Click Manage Employees in the navigation sidebar.

Create a New Employee
- Click the + Add Employee button.
- Click the + Add Employee button.

Enter Employee Information
- Fill in all required fields:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email Address
- Select the Assigned Employee option.
- Fill in all required fields:

Send Invitation (Recommended)
- Ensure the Invite Employee checkbox is selected if you want to send them an activation email automatically.
- Click Save to create the employee and send the invitation.

Complete the Process
- The new employee will receive an activation email.
- They must activate their account before they can begin using SmartVault.
Once the employee has activated their account, you'll need to assign specific clients to them. The employee will then have access to only those assigned clients based on their role (Firm Manager or Firm Employee).
